Weddings
Leading up to the ceremony: We will gather the information needed to make appropriate interpreter selections and provide them with preparation materials they need. In addition to the date, start & end time, and location of the appointment, we will need the following information:
-
Name of the Deaf guest(s) or family member(s) and any interpreter specific requests they have
-
Name of both the Bride and the Groom
-
Plan of ceremony and any songs that will be performed
-
Please let us know if you would like the interpreter(s) to provide services at the reception following the ceremony
-
This is typically requested for the speeches and toasts at the reception
-
If the reception is at a separate location, please be sure to include the address.
-
During the ceremony: The need for 1 interpreter vs 2 is heavily dependent on the length of the ceremony. The placement of the interpreter will vary depending on the size and set up of the venue. Usually you will still need the interpreter in the front on the far left or right side of the focal point, but careful considerations should be made about the view of the bridal party, photographs, and overall spacing. Some families with a Deaf parent or multiple Deaf family members prefer the interpreter to be more involved and visible during the ceremony.
